How it works

Reduces appetite

Mimics GLP-1 and GIP — two hormones that signal fullness to your brain — so you feel satisfied with less food.

Slows digestion

Food empties more slowly from your stomach, helping you stay full for longer between meals.

Improves insulin response

Helps your body use insulin more effectively, supporting stable blood sugar and fewer energy dips.

Boosts adiponectin

Raises a hormone involved in regulating glucose and breaking down fatty acids — supporting steady weight loss.

Our Transformations

Every plan was assessed and prescribed by Mohammed Kolia against NICE eligibility — and reviewed monthly throughout.

Frequently asked

Everything you need to know about medical weight loss.

The ten questions Leicester patients ask us most before starting their weight loss journey. If yours isn't here, book a 45 minute consultation with Mohammed — it's free, with no obligation to proceed.

Under NICE guidance, weight loss medication is suitable for adults with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or above, or a BMI of 27-29.9 kg/m² with at least one weight-related health condition (such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, or sleep apnoea). You must be 18 or over, and not pregnant or breastfeeding. We'll check your full eligibility against current guidance at your consultation.

Your first consultation is free and takes around 15 minutes. Mohammed reviews your medical history, current medications, weight history and goals — and checks your BMI against current NICE guidance. We'll talk through the options that suit your specific situation. There's no obligation to proceed afterwards.

All weight loss medications we prescribe are MHRA-licensed and used in line with current NICE guidance. Every patient is individually assessed by a prescribing pharmacist before treatment begins, and reviewed regularly throughout. Like any medication, side effects are possible — we cover the full safety profile at consultation so you know exactly what to expect.

Costs vary depending on the treatment plan that's right for you, which we agree at consultation. We don't hide fees — clinical reviews, support, and any dose adjustments are included in the monthly cost. Your first consultation is always free, with no obligation to proceed afterwards.

Most patients notice changes in appetite and food cravings within the first few weeks. Visible weight loss is typically gradual — averaging around 1-2 kg per week in the early stages, slowing as you approach your target.

Results vary based on your starting BMI, adherence to the plan, and how closely you pair treatment with sustainable lifestyle changes. There are no overnight transformations — but realistic, lasting results are absolutely achievable.

Most patients experience mild, temporary side effects in the first few weeks — typically nausea, reduced appetite (which is the desired effect, though it can feel intense at first), digestive changes, or tiredness. These usually settle as your body adjusts to the treatment.

Mohammed reviews you regularly so we can adjust your plan if anything isn't tolerated well. Severe side effects are uncommon, and we cover the full safety profile at consultation.

Yes. NICE guidance requires weight loss medication to be prescribed alongside a calorie-controlled diet and increased physical activity — it's the medication and the lifestyle changes together that produce lasting results. We'll talk through realistic, sustainable habits at every appointment, no extreme diets or punishing exercise plans required.

This varies by individual and is something we revisit at every review. Some patients use weight loss medication for 6-12 months to reach their target, others continue longer for maintenance. There's no fixed minimum — we'll always be guided by what's clinically right for you, not what generates more visits.

No. Weight loss medications are contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you're actively trying to conceive, we generally don't recommend starting treatment. We discuss reliable contraception with all patients of reproductive age at consultation, and pause treatment if pregnancy is planned.

No. We're a GPhC-registered pharmacy with a prescribing pharmacist on-site, so you can book directly with us — online, by phone, or as a walk-in. Mohammed will assess your eligibility against NICE guidance at the consultation. If treatment isn't right for you, we'll explain why and won't charge you for the visit.

Still have a question?

Mohammed is happy to chat through anything that isn't covered above before you commit to treatment.

This page is general information, not medical advice. Weight loss medication is a prescription-only treatment — final eligibility is assessed at consultation by Mohammed Kolia (GPhC reg. 2073260) against your full medical history and current NICE guidance.
